Welcome to Coracias Research.

We carry out research into the ecology of the European Roller (Coracias garrulus), a globally near-threatened migratory bird of open landscapes across Eurasia. We are particularly interested in the conservation-relevant links between environmental change, demography and population dynamics. We are: Tom Finch (PhD student at the University of East Anglia, UK) and Dr. Simon Butler (primary supervisor), working in association with A Rocha France & The Latvian Ornithological Society. We are also in collaboration with Phil Saunders (PhD student) & Dr. Aldina Franco (primary supervisor) who are also based at UEA but studying Rollers in Portugal and Cyprus.

If you’d like to get in touch with any questions / feedback / comments / advice, or if you’re interested in collaborating, please don’t hesitate¬†email me.
